The brand centers around Maria Lascola and her grandson Bruno, who carried their family’s culinary legacy from Naples to America. Nonna & Son reflects their deep connection to heritage through hand-drawn typography, historic imagery, and narrative elements. The visual language integrates old film photography aesthetics with modern flash photography, while the restaurant’s identity features a fox symbolizing legacy, wisdom, and spiritual connection.

The Challenge

The challenge was to create a brand identity that felt both deeply personal and widely appealing, ensuring the emotional weight of Maria and Bruno’s story remained central. Additionally, the visual system needed to balance historical authenticity with contemporary design elements to avoid appearing outdated or overly rustic.

The Solution

At the center of it all was a boy named bruno. An orphan, who also happened to be Maria's grandson who she took in at a young age.

Nonna & Son captures the essence of its namesake story, inviting customers into an experience that feels both familiar and elevated. The brand’s distinct visual language sets it apart in the market, celebrating tradition while embracing modernity. Through strong storytelling and well-crafted design, Nonna & Son establishes itself as a heartfelt and compelling culinary destination.
